'' Raise your level of competency in computer skills, improve your productivity and gain an industry-recognised qualification. The British Computer Society (BCS) ECDL certificate consists of eight modules in two parts. Each module involves a 45-minute exam. Entry requirements: basic computing including word processing and file management. ECDL part 1 covers the following modules: basic concepts of IT; using the computer and managing files; and information and communication. Course fees include a non-refundable exam fee of £30.

What is the course about?
The European Computer Driving Licence (ECDL) is a Europe-wide qualification with which you can prove your competence in a range of computing skills to employers.

This course covers Level 1 of the ECDL certificate. For the complete certificate, you must also enrol on the Level 2 course which follows this one (CED01A).

What level is the course?
You must have used a computer before and are expected to have a basic working knowledge of Microsoft applications. This is NOT an absolute beginners course.

What will the course cover? (contents,themes,projects)
The ECDL Syllabus 4 is designed to cover the key concepts of computing, their practical applications and their use in the workplace and society in general. It is broken down into 8 modules. This course covers the 3 modules which make up Level 1 of the certificate:

- Module 1 - Basic Concepts of IT
- Module 2 - Using the Computer and Managing Files
- Module 7 - Information and Communication

To obtain the complete ECDL certificate you must also enrol in the Level 2 course which follows this one: CED01A.
