What is the course about?
To develop advanced skills and knowledge of desktop publishing using QuarkXPress 6 on Apple Macs. You will gain an insight into the advanced features of the page layout program.

What level is the course?
You will need to be able to perform the basic print production tasks using QuarkXPress 6. If you have not done QuarkXPress 6 Stage 1 course please check the course outline to see that you are familiar with what was covered.

Planning and designing complex publications.
More advanced text formatting features e.g. tabulation, anchored text boxes, hyphenation and justification, tracking and kerning.
Using master pages, copy flow.
Setting up and appending style sheets.
Advanced colour work including, editing and appending colours and the principles of trapping and colour separation.
Working with imported images, overview of picture styling and picture effects.
Use of library feature.
QuarkXPress preferences.
Quick keystrokes and hints.
