'' Using the three main web editing applications, learn how to design a fully interactive website, from concept to technical completion using Apple Macs. Knowledge required: experience with graphic toolboxes and Macs will be advantageous.
What is the course about?
You will learn how to use the main web-editing applications pf Dreamweaver and Fireworks in order to design and develop an interactive website, from linking files, to incorporating images and publishing. The course addresses practical issues of website design, but does not deal with online forms, scripting or standard design concepts (such as colour or line).

What level is the course?
This is not an absolute beginners’ course. You should be able to use the keyboard and mouse and have used Apple Macs. It would also be useful if you have used creative software toolboxes and have some experience of HTML.

Introduction to the web-editing software program Dreamweaver. Learn what a website is, what the component parts are and how HTML works.
Introduction to designing pages and preparing graphics using Fireworks. Basic image and slice optimisation using Fireworks. Image file formats for the web. Transferring your preliminary visuals created in Fireworks into Dreamweaver by the use of tables.
Site structure and file organisation. Interactivity through Dreamweaver: navigation links, animated GIFs, rollovers and anchors.
How to publish a site on the web.
