'' The Fresno City College Paralegal Studies Program is a challenging and dynamic program designed for the individual interested in working in the legal field as a paralegal. Recent labor surveys project significant growth in the paralegal field. Paralegals work in a variety of law office settings including: law firms, government agencies, corporations, legal aid offices, etc.
The program provides both a Certificate of Achievement and an Associate of Science Degree option. The 37 unit program consists of a common core curriculum of 31 units plus 6 elective units. Completion of the program qualifies the graduate as a paralegal under Business and Professions Code Section 6450. Courses in the program are taught by attorneys or practicing paralegals. The curriculum stresses both skills learning and the latest law office technology. The program requires a student to complete a 300 hour internship which provides the student to obtain hands-on experience in a local law office.
Student Paralegal Association The Student Paralegal Association (SPA) is a campus organization consisting of paralegal students. It is one of the largest and most active student organizations on the FCC campus. The organization conducts a number of educational as well as social activities throughout the school year. It also periodically publishes a newsletter which it distributes to paralegal students. ...''
