Course Description:

'' This fun and flexible course is geared towards beginners and those who have been painting on their own for a while. Topics include: oil paints and mediums, painting surfaces, some art history, line, form, shape, space, composition, and value. We will be painting from still life, imagination, and nature. Please bring to the first class meeting: 18" x 11" or 16" x 20" sketchbook, assorted pencils (#2, #4, #6)and erasers. Either 4 stretched canvases or 4 canvas boards (there will be instruction on stretching canvases.)Bottle of baby oil. One tube each of: White, Raw Umber, Ultra Marine Blue, Cadmium Red, Cadmium Yellow. Linseed Oil, cloth rags or paper towels, and three oil brushes - vary sizes. For a palette, an enameled paint tray, a kitchen plate or glass pie-plate and a palette knife. Students are welcome to bring materials they may already have. ...''
