'' This course teaches the First Section of the traditional Yang Style: 108 movement Long Form of Tai Chi Chuan, the most widely practiced form of Tai Chi in the world. Regular practice of Tai Chi Chuan has many documented health benefits, including stress reduction, enhanced body awareness, improved balance and lower body strength, and relief of certain knee conditions. Tai Chi can also serve as a form of moving meditation and, after many years of study, can become an intensely powerful internal form of Kung Fu for the truly dedicated practitioner. Special emphasis is placed on: (1) methods of improving balance skills, (2) identification and release of areas of tension within the body, and (3) eliminating habits which can cause stress to the knee and lower back. Mr. DeFilippo has taught Yang Style Tai Chi Chuan for more than 28 years, and has studied it for 34 years. He is a senior student of Grandmaster Chung Kwon-Tin of Hong Kong, whom he has studied under since 1983. ...''
