'' A course for women with little or no experience in mountain biking who want to get started in this exciting sport. Three hands-on, outdoor classes in which students will learn basic bike handling skills and riding techniques of mountain biking, instruction in proper gear shifting, braking and repairing a flat tire. Meet at Albuquerque Open Space/Rio Grande Valley State Park parking lot located on the south side of Alameda Road, just east of the river. Go to the gravel portion of the lot on the south side. Required equipment: helmet, gloves, tire pump, patch kit, 1 set bicycle tire irons, hydration device (water bottles or Camelback or other brand hydration pack.) Approximate cost of equipment is $50-$100 depending on equipment choices. ...''
