'' Music knows no boundaries. The art of music making transcends barriers of culture, gender, and age to unite us. From tribal chant to Georgian chant, bebop to hip hop, and Vivaldi to virtual Varese, music plays a part in every culture. The music program at the University of Michigan-Flint allows students to express themselves through performance while learning the theories and concepts behind the composition. To become a music major, take applied lessons, or be eligible for Music Department scholarships/stipends, you must audition. Students may choose the general program in music or music education.
