Course Description:

'' Our culinary program prepares you for a variety of careers in the foodservice industry. You¡¯ll get practical experience in state-of-industry kitchens including simulated situations and real-world production applications in our learning restaurant, Artisan, and through internships.

Students get a broad introduction to the many aspects of the foodservice industry using a learner-centered approach to culinary education. Food production skills are complimented by courses detailing the business of culinary arts, along with general studies, to ensure graduates are able to become valuable employees.

A Sample of Subjects You’ll Study:

• Fundamentals of Classical Cooking Techniques
• American Regional Cuisines
• Contemporary Cuisines
• Introduction to Pastries & Plated Desserts
• Asian Cuisines
• Essentials of Food & Wine Pairing

Students in their 6th quarter of study alternate between the kitchen and the front of our learning restaurant, Artisan, which is open to the public for lunch from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Mondays through Wednesdays when classes are in session.
