'' The Medical Billing and Coding Diploma program is a 960-clock hour course of instructions, which prepares individuals to be a Medical Biller and Coder in today¡¯s competitive healthcare environment. It presents the concepts and skills to provide accurate medical billing in a medical office, medical billing facility, and laboratory. This program emphasizes the skills required to take the Certificated Professional Coding (CPC) examination. Upon completion of the program students will possess the skills and knowledge necessary to obtain employment. Graduates of this program will be able to assign codes to diagnoses and procedures in order to insure proper financial reimbursement from insurance companies and government agencies. Additionally, they will be able to use a universally recognized coding system and insure correct codes for compliance with federal regulations and insurance requirements.
Applicants must be at least 18 years of age. Students who request to take an English Proficiency Test to evaluate their English skills are required to pass the test satisfactorily.
If an applicant needs to achieve the GED, he/she can be admitted if the GED preparation is taken with us. Students will take GED preparation classes prior to entering the Medical Billing and Coding program.
