'' The Master of Business Administration/Accounting program is designed to enhance the management skills students need to function effectively within an accounting organization. Students will create and defend their solutions to problems of crisis management, profitable growth opportunities, and change leadership. Throughout the program, students gain experience in distilling a situation into a well-defined problem; applying tools and concepts to analyze a variety of alternative solutions; and selecting and defending their recommended course of action.
The Master of Business Administration program at the University of Phoenix utilizes problem based learning where students refine their problem solving skills along with their communication, creativity, information utilization, and critical thinking skills. They are assessed on the basis of their use of the problem solving process (which employs a general rubric) as well as their communication and critical thinking skills during their presentation.
The MBA/ACC specialization is designed to enhance the accounting management skills students need to function effectively within private businesses, non-profit organizations, and public agencies. The MBA/ACC specialization is based upon courses in advanced accounting information systems, advanced cost accounting, advanced business taxation, accounting theory, and auditing.
The MBA/ACC specialization is designed to enhance the accounting management skills students need to function effectively within private businesses, non-profit organizations, and public agencies. This program, when combined with a BSB/ ACC, provides sufficient academic preparation to sit for the CPA exam. Students should always contact the Board of Accountancy in the state in which they plan to sit for the CPA examination to determine the state-specific requirements. A CPA exam review course is strongly recommended before sitting for the exam. The MBA/ACC specialization is based upon courses in advanced accounting information systems, advanced cost accounting, advanced business taxation, accounting theory, and auditing.
The MBA/ACC consists of 54 credit hours and includes three proficiency courses (MBA/501, MBA/502, and MBA/503), which may be satisfied in one of the following ways:
1) Undergraduate business degree conferred within the past 10 years; or
2) Comparable undergraduate business coursework that meets the Universitys standard course waiver criteria; or
3) Comparable graduate business coursework that meets the Universitys standard course waiver criteria -- only if no undergraduate business coursework can be applied. Students may also waive up to an additional nine credits using graduate courses that meet the Universitys standard course waiver criteria. There is a minimum residency requirement of 36 credits to complete the MBA program. ...''
