'' In a competitive global market, successful businesses realize the importance of understanding their markets and developing relationships with their customers. All marketing activities are designed to help get a good or service to users/consumers, to change behaviors or to influence ideas. Marketing skills are a necessity in nearly every setting and profession in order to ensure economic survival.
The Bachelor of Science in Business Administration (BSBA) with a concentration in Marketing Management is designed to prepare you to understand and apply marketing, sales and management principles in order to contribute to organizational success. The program focuses on the crucial interface between an organization and its customers and includes such topics as research, analysis, decision-making and application, consumer behavior, strategic marketing planning, and the tools and methods of communication.
This degree program was designed according to the national marketing education standards developed by the Marketing Education Resource Center. The curriculum is also based on the marketing standards outlined in the National Standards for Business Education by the National Business Education Association (NBEA).
What skills can I learn? Students who successfully complete the BSBA with a concentration in Marketing Management should be able to: Explain the core areas of marketing within an organization. Analyze the benefits and consequences of marketing activities on the physical environment and on the lives of buyers. Develop appropriate career and professional skills for the field of marketing. Discuss the major social and regulatory issues facing direct marketers today, including, but not limited to, the role of the World Wide Web, and consumer data privacy. Discuss how to organize, staff, and train a sales force. Discuss the marketing research process, including problem definition, research design, data collection, date analysis, and the result communication. Discuss the appropriate role and functions of marking research in the marketing process, including the strengths and limitations of marketing.
What are some possible career opportunities? The BSBA in Marketing Management can help prepare you for positions including advertising account executive, marketing researcher, sales and sales manager, or marketing manager.
