Troubleshoot the Network Interface layer (link layer/data-link layer)
Troubleshoot at the Internet (Network) layer
Troubleshoot at the Transport layer
Troubleshoot network applications such as active and PASV file transfer protocol (FTP), NTP, and DHCP


Overview
The TCP/IP Network Troubleshooting in a Solaris 9 OS course provides students with practical, hands-on experience in troubleshooting the layers of a TCP/IP software stack in a Solaris OE. This course features a significant amount of lab time and simulated real-world scenarios related to network configuration and troubleshooting.

The hands-on labs offered in this course may involve accessing equipmentthat resides at a location other than where the training is delivered.

Prerequisites
To succeed fully in this course, students should be able to:
Configure a UNIX system as a router
Configure a UNIX system to use classless interdomain routing (CIDR) or variable length subnet masks (VLSM)
Configure the following on a UNIX system: network interfaces, Internet Protocol Multipathing (IPMP), Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP), Domain Name Service (DNS), and Network Time Protocol (NTP)
