'' This one-week (15 hours) class is intended for either beginning or advanced students who would like to learn how to carve a 5 ½ foot long traditional Tlingit dance paddle. This paddle can be either carved or painted depending upon student preference. Master Carver Wayne Price will have template designs available for use by students. A student may bring his or her own design, or one that can be created with the instructor’s assistance.
Wayne Price creates fine art in the traditional Northwest style of the Tlingit Indian Tribe. Wayne uses his skills to produce totem poles, canoes, masks, paddles, drums, screens/panels, bentwood boxes, and dance/ceremonial regalia. Other artistic skills include designing and engraving silver and gold jewelry, and fine art prints. His work can be found throughout the world, especially in Alaska and the Northwest United States. ...''
