'' Accounting is the language of business, and real success in business requires an understanding of that language. Every business and every person needs to plan for; and keep track of; money, assets and debts. In this respect, accounting is critical to our everyday life.

The associate of applied science degree in Applied Accounting prepares students to begin successful careers in the accounting profession. The program includes a mix of accounting and related business courses and a core of college level general education courses which provide the skills and knowledge necessary for job acquisition, retention, and advancement. Courses are specifically designed to address the financial decision making concerns of the modern business person. Classes are scheduled both during the day and in the evening to accommodate working students. Microcomputer labs feature the latest in business hardware and software and are available for "hands on" training.

The Accounting Technician certificate is a one-year program that features the first year of training toward the A.A.S. degree. Students wishing to transfer into the 4-year Bachelor of Accounting Degree may use the certificate as the first 30 semester credit hours (of 150 required) for the CPA license.
