'' The Sheldon Jackson College (SJC) Hatchery program introduces Environmental Science students to the art of salmon ranching, a form of aquaculture practiced extensively in Alaska. Students get hands-on experience working in the Colleges on-campus hatchery. Lab sessions take place in the hatcherys incubation room where students participate in the production of four species of Pacific salmon: kings, coho, pinks and chum. Students begin with egg takes in the fall and release the fry in the spring. ...''
