'' The E-commerce Fundamentals WBT is the first course in the E-commerce curriculum. It introduces students to the technologies and concepts of e-commerce. It also provides students the knowledge of different e-commerce system architectures and planning the implementation of an e-commerce system. After completing this course, the student will be able to:
List the advantages of e-commerce
List the factors facilitating the growth of e-commerce
Identify the components that form the infrastructure for the e-commerce industry
Identify the different types of e-commerce business segments
Describe the components of the e-commerce value chain
List the management issues associated with e-commerce
List the issues that arise because of the transnational nature of the e-commerce business
Describe the different types of e-commerce business strategies
Compare the business strategies suitable for the different types of e-commerce business segments
Examine the conflicts between the requirements of different e-commerce participants
Describe the role of standards in e-commerce
Examine the conflicts caused by the use of cookies and Secure Electronic Transactions (SET) in e-commerce
List the factors that should be considered while designing the architecture of an e-commerce system
Describe the different e-commerce system architectures
List the issues involved in planning the implementation of an e-commerce system
List the issues involved in the operational phase of an e-commerce system
