'' First orientation class is Sunday, Sept. 30, 8:30pm in the gym lobby. Date of the trip is Oct. 20-21. Participants will learn cave ecology, navigation, safety systems, Leave No Trace principles, anchor construction, lighting systems, equipment selection, rescue situations, group management, ascending techniques and much more. Students will spend one night (camping) in the field. Travel/activity cost $35. Basic level of fitness required. The emphasis on this course is on horizontal caves as opposed to vertical caves. All caving equipment, some food, permits, and transportation are provided. Travel/activity cost is due at registration, no travel/activity cost refunds after 10/1. Enrollment limit �16.
