'' Since its inception in 1995, Java technology has grown in popularity and usage because of its true portability. The Java platform allows you to run the same Java application on different operating systems.
Sun certifications are well recognized among the java developers’ community. Sun has a range of Java certifications starting from the entry level Sun Certified Java Programmer (SCJP) to high level certifications like Sun Certified Enterprise Architect (SCEA). The new Sun Certified Web Component Developer title is one of the hottest emerging certifications in the industry (it barely missed making CertCities’s list of the 10 Hottest certifications for 2003). Perhaps one of the reasons why Sun certifications are so popular is that the exams are generally viewed as fairly challenging. And the basic fact that the SCJD requires the unique combination of a Programming Assignment and Essay Exam, which in itself can cause difficulty for candidates unfamiliar with the formats.
