'' In recent years the techniques and principles of facilities and plant engineering management have changed due to the installation of more automated systems, an increase in assigned responsibilities and a desire for more professionalism at the management level. Although most facilities managers have technical backgrounds, their work is increasingly oriented toward the management of systems and people.

Objectives
This program provides technical as well as managerial skills to those who work in facilities operations. The program helps participants understand operational decisions that can help to save thousands of dollars in plant maintenance, upkeep and improvements. The unique focus and depth of the program provides professionals with a skill set that is specifically tailored to meet the unique challenges facing today’s manager. Participants examine global issues to allow participants to identify how decisions can help plants become safer, more reliable and increasingly sophisticated in their operation. Additional attention is given to examine the latest trends in technology as well as legal and environmental issues that must be considered.
