'' PED 150 Rock Climbing I 2 credits PED 150 is designed to introduce basic rock climbing, improve dexterity, problem solving skills and the physical work capacity of an individual. The primary emphasis will be to gain an understanding of the general principles of climbing; how equipment works and how it is used; basic climbing skills and techniques; safety and climbing etiquette and terminology.
PED 151 Rock Climbing II 2 credits Prerequisite: PED 150 or permission of Instructor. PED 151 is designed to introduce lead climbing skills and techniques, problem solving skills and physical fitness. Emphasis is placed on the general principles of lead climbing; proper usage of climbing equipment; development of lead climbing skills and techniques, climbing ethics and safety; and terminology.
