'' The Barber Program includes coursework in treatment of hair and scalp: shampooing, hair cutting, hair styling, shaving, hair coloring, permanent waving and chemical relaxers, facial massage and treatments, sanitation procedures, salon management, laws, rules and regulations. Introduction, intermediate and advanced training is the combination of theory pertaining to barbering and clinical training that is achieved through a practical setting with students working on clients in The Salon at Pickens Tech and/or mannequins.
Students completing the program will be prepared to take the Colorado State License Examination. A licensed barber will have the skills to be a talented barber-stylist, personal service expert, businessperson, a self-promoter, as well as a poised and well-groomed salesperson.
