Course Description:

'' The Cosmetology Program includes coursework in: shampooing, rinsing and conditioning, hair cutting, hair styling, permanent waving and chemical texture, hair coloring, manicures and pedicures, artificial nails, facials and skin care, makeup, hair removal, sanitation procedures, salon management, laws, rules and regulations. Introduction, intermediate and advanced training is the combination of theory pertaining to hair, skin, and nails and clinical training that is achieved through a practical setting with students working on clients in The Salon at Pickens Tech and/or mannequins.

Students completing the program will be prepared to take the Colorado State License Examination. A licensed cosmetologist will have the skills to be a talented hairsylist, nail technician, personal service expert, business person, a self-promoter, as well as a poised and well-groomed salesperson.
