'' The Esthetician Program provides specialized training in: skin care, hair removal, day spa facial and body treatments. Advanced training includes skin care machines, professional makeup, facial massage, exfoliation treatment, aromatherapy, nutrition, health of the skin, salon management, and sanitation procedures. Additional advanced training also includes chemical peel and microdermabrasion. The program includes specialty treatments for problematic skin types, ingredient and product analysis, and salon business. Introduction, intermediate and advanced training is the combination of theory and clinical training that is achieved through a practical setting with students working on clients in The Salon at Pickens Tech and/or mannequins.
Students completing the program will be prepared to take the Colorado State License Examination. A licensed esthetician will have the skills to be a talented day spa professional, skin care specialist, personal service expert, business person, a self-promoter, as well as a poised and well-groomed salesperson.
