Course Description:
'' The Professional Photography program at Pickens Tech is a comprehensive two-semester program designed to prepare students for entry into the photography career field. No previous photography training or experience is required. These courses will take you from the Basics of Exposure Theory, 35mm SLRs, and B&W Photography through Flash, Basic Studio Lighting, and a Professional Portfolio. Upon successful graduation, you will be prepared to work as a freelance photographer, serve as a photographers assistant or continue on with your photo education by transferring to one of Colorados community colleges. Students who complete all coursework with a grade of "C" or better may earn both program certificates. The Photographers Assistant Certificate is awarded after completion of the first semester while the Professional Photography Certificate is earned upon completion of the entire program. All courses are transferable to any community college in the state offering the program(s).
