'' The nursing program is a two year/five semester program. Upon completion graduates receive an associate of science degree. Graduates of the NCC Nursing Program are eligible to take the National Council of State Boards of Nursing’s National Examination for Registered Nurse Licensure (NCLEX-RN)
Associate Degree Registered Nurses assist individuals to promote, maintain and restore their health. Nurses function as caregivers, managers of client care, teachers and members of the health care team. The program includes a comprehensive curriculum of general education and nursing science courses. The students are exposed to a wide variety of state-of-the-art learning experiences including classroom work and computer, practice and simulation laboratory learning. Clinical laboratory practice is planned as an integral part of each nursing course. Nearby acute care agencies are used, such as Greenwich, Norwalk, Stamford, Danbury and Bridgeport Hospitals. Students also have learning experiences in long term care facilities and selected community agencies.
