Course Description:

'' This intensive course will benefit project team members, project coordinators, project managers, or anyone who is seriously interested in becoming a Project Management Professional (PMP®). The course material, a detailed review of project management processes and knowledge areas, is reinforced with a 12-part case study. The class will work as a team to apply best practices from the course instruction to case study situations that will build over the four day period. Students will analyze and evaluate issues related to the course content, then develop solutions for the case study company. This practical instruction will engage class participants as well as teach them how to apply project techniques to real world situations.



Class participants will leave the course with a practical set of tools that they can apply to their own organizations. Proven working templates will be completed as part of the course material. By the course conclusion students will have created a complete project notebook with the associated project documents such as: a project charter; scope statement; Work Breakdown Structure (WBS); risk register, and project schedule.



The course employs the Project Management Institute’s (PMI®) terminology and covers processes & knowledge areas that are consistent with “A Guide to the Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK Guide®).�


Intended Audience:

Operating managers, project managers, program managers, project team members �anyone who needs to learn how to apply project management techniques to their own projects, or who is seriously interested in becoming a Project Management Professional (PMP).



Prerequisites:

Project Management Overview or previous practical knowledge of project management practices.



Student Responsibilities:

In order for a class to be successful, all students should share the same general level of knowledge and experience. If a participant does not demonstrate these, the CITI instructor will take the necessary steps either to prepare the participant or place him/her in a more appropriate course.
