Training Course:

Project Requirements, Quality and Integration

School/Trainer:

University of Connecticut - Stamford
Stamford, Connecticut, United States

Course Format: Classroom | E-learning | Virtual Class | Online | On-site | Blended | Self-paced

Course Description:

'' Quality is one of the key components of successful project execution. This course will present an overview of state-of-the-art quality philosophies with specific concentration on Six Sigma, a statistical approach to quality that has been widely adopted by leading companies in a growing number of industries. It will then cover project quality standards that are documented in the Project Management Institute Body of Knowledge (PMBOK庐): quality planning, quality assurance and quality control.

As Six Sigma proponents know, quality is about doing things right the first time. For the project manager this translates to accomplishing what was planned, the way that it was planned, and only what was planned. However, seasoned project managers know that 鈥渟cope creep鈥?is a major threat to project quality. For this reason, the topics of scope planning and control and requirements management are also covered in this review of quality techniques for the project manager.

Finally, the course will describe the role that Integration Management plays in monitoring and controlling quality throughout the life of the project. The course employs the Project Management Institute鈥檚 (PMI庐) terminology and covers processes & knowledge areas that are consistent with 鈥淎 Guide to the Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK Guide庐).鈥?
.

Intended Audience:

Project managers, key stakeholders and project team members who are interested in minimizing 鈥渟cope creep鈥? reducing the cost of rework, and applying proven quality techniques to their projects. Executives who would like to learn about quality philosophies and quality practices of leading corporations.

Prerequisites:

Participant should have completed the Project Management Overview or a similar introductory course.

Student Responsibilities:

In order for a class to be successful, all students should share the same general level of knowledge and experience. If a participant does not demonstrate these, the CITI instructor will take the necessary steps either to prepare the participant or place him/her in a more appropriate course. This policy is intended to maintain the high level of quality that you have come to expect from CITI.
