Course Description:

'' Registered nurses with master’s degrees in a clinical nursing major and a minimum of one year of recent acute/critical care experience are eligible to apply to this option preparing them to take the American Nurses Credentialing Center/American Association of Critical Care Nurses (ANCC/AACN) certification examination as an Acute Care Nurse Practitioner.

This option prepares nurses to serve in specialized acute care areas such as intensive and critical care units, emergency rooms and in other settings where patients are acutely ill and in need of comprehensive assessment of multiple body systems and intensive therapies. Clinical experiences include a variety of settings and adult patient populations.

This 15 month program begins in September of each year and may be completed in 4 semesters that include one summer. Applications are due March 1 of each year. Part time study is available.
