Course Format: Classroom | E-learning | Virtual Class | Online | On-site | Blended | Self-paced
Course Description:
'' In an environment of rapid change and constrained resources, public- and private-sector organizations are engaged in high-risk, high-visibility IT projects. Unfortunately, in many cases those projects fail to deliver results on time, on budget, and with the functionality required by project users. Too often, project communications are inadequate, stakeholders are left out of the loop, and resources are poorly coordinated and employed. As a remedy and as a requirement for success in this environment, organizations are attempting to increase the project management capabilities of their IT managers and staff.
Though project management is an increasingly desirable skill set for those aspiring to success in todays employment market, most organizations are attempting to build the project management capabilities of their staff in order to meet immediate and looming organizational challenges, challenges that could mean the difference between their success and failure.
This three-day workshop is intended to introduce participants to the methods and tools of IT project management so that they can improve the performance of the projects they are involved in. Its principal goal is to improve the success rates of IT projects in the organization.
Building on the project methodology presented in the PMBOKĀ® Guide, Third Edition this workshop will provide participants with an introduction to processes, techniques, and best practices for IT project initiation, planning, execution, control and closing. Participants will be engaged in interactive exercises designed to build their competence and confidence and exposed to best practices and process templates for project management.
