'' The Aberystwyth MBA programme was established in 1985 and is accredited by the Association of MBAs. The MBA is a full-time one year study programme designed to lead on to a variety of employment options and career advancement. Designed for students from a wide range of disciplines, the programme attracts students from all over the globe.

The School strives to integrate our MBA programme, linking together modules by adopting a thematic approach. Themes such as management skills, e-business and sustainability run throughout the MBA at Aberystwyth.

The MBA teaching team is drawn from the faculty of the School and is actively involved in research, teaching and consultancy. The quality of the MBA teaching team reflects the ethos of the University, which is research led.



Course Structure
The structure of the MBA is based on ten core modules spread over two semesters. These modules provide a thorough grounding in the general management disciplines such as Strategy, Marketing, Finance, Managerial Economics, Organisational Behaviour and Operations Management. In the second semester a further two elective modules must be undertaken. The elective options tailor the learning experience towards a development plan to ensure the skills and confidence to follow a chosen career.

The core and elective modules reflect the key themes of the School which aims to develop the attributes of success by practising the management skills in order to develop sustainable organisations.

The School of Management and Business employs a range of teaching methods appropriate to individual modules and topics. As well as lectures and seminars, MBA students are involved in group projects and exercises, discussion and focus groups. A lively programme of industrial visits and visiting speakers augments the MBA teaching programme, as do case studies, video materials and other audio-visual facilities.

However, management knowledge cannot be applied in a vacuum and the development of skills are vital to success. The skills course in the MBA is the cornerstone of the programme. Participation in exercises in communication, leadership and overcoming adversity are an important part of the curriculum.

The practical team and management skills course is delivered over the duration of the MBA to includes a customised Outward Bound course at the Outward Bound Centre at Aberdyfi.

The MBA at Aberystwyth is designed for students from a wide range of disciplines and the University attracts students from over 90 countries. Postgraduate students join a thriving and cosmopolitan postgraduate community.

The Language and Learning Centre at Aberystwyth provides a course on pre-university English for academic purposes. This course is accredited by BALEAP and is particularly beneficial for international students intending to study at the University of Wales, Aberystwyth.
