Course Description:
'' Bradfords Master of Business Administration (MBA) is an integrative programme designed for those seeking high-level careers in management. It provides knowledge and skills in a wide range of business disciplines, and aims to ensure that graduates can make a significant contribution to management through career-long self-development.
Fitting the course to your needs
There are a number of options within the MBA programme, which enable managers to organise their studies and pace their learning according to their circumstances.
The full-time option is designed for managers who wish to take a year out of their career to follow an intensive course of study. This pathway runs for a full twelve-month period, starting in mid-September.
The two Executive part-time options start in September and January each year. The Executive part-time route by evening and short block attendance can be completed in two years or taken over a longer period, up to a maximum of six years; most participants complete the programme in three years.
In the first year, the foundation programme is taught on Wednesday evenings from 5.00 pm to 9.30 pm with additional attendance for block courses. For anyone unable to attend in blocks, it is possible to complete modules by distance learning, as described below.
During the second year, the elective programme is taught on Wednesday evenings. In order to extend choice, electives may be available on other evenings and are offered during the day, either as intensive three- to five-day blocks or as term-based courses in the full-time MBA programme.
Integrative courses, taken by all participants, are delivered in three- to five-day blocks in September and July in the first and second years of the programme. Thereafter, attendance depends on the nature of the management project, which can be submitted in September or March.
The modular programme is delivered through eight nine-day residential blocks over two years. Each residential block will deal with two subjects. The entrance requirements are similar to those of the full-time MBA except that applicants should have a minimum of five years work experience. Entry to the course is in September or January.
The executive modular and distance learning MBAs can also be completed in two years, or taken over a longer period, up to a maximum of six years. If taken over three years, say, it would require an average weekly study time of 15-20 hours.
Distance Learning allows participants to organise their study time according to their circumstances. However, contact with other managers and staff is also an important part of the learning process and appropriate emphasis is given to this throughout the programme. A three-day induction course at the School in September provides opportunities to interact with peers and staff, and to benefit from group and team activities and experiences. Some electives are also offered as intensive three- to five-day blocks in September, November and March/April at the School.
