The innovative structure and content of QUT’s MBA is unique in Australia, and gives students a distinct career advantage by offering a broader range of core and elective units.

Innovative Course Structure
BGSB offers 6 credit point units, delivered in 7 week modules (6 weeks teaching and one week of final assessment) or half-semester. This gives students the flexibility to commence study at the beginning or mid-point of any semester, offering six different entry points each year.

Full-time or Part-time study
Full time students are able to complete their studies in a minimum of one calendar year (3 semesters), by taking advantage of the Summer teaching periods, or international students can enrol in the traditional mode and complete the MBA over 18 months. Part time students can finish in a minimum of two calendar years (6 semesters). Students have a maximum period of five years in which to complete their MBA studies.

Core and Elective unit choice
The course comprises 15 core units and 2 integrative units of study, plus 42 credit points of electives. This flexible structure allows students to cover a diverse range of topics before choosing their electives that comprise their concentration or minor studies.

Specialisations
Depending on the choice of electives, students may complete one or more concentration (36 credit points) or minor (24 credit points) for depth in specific areas. A list of areas can be found on the Specialisations page. The titles of completed concentrations and minors are recorded on academic transcripts at the completion of study.
