'' The cinematography specialisation program will be an exciting one.

The cinematography specialisation will not only teach the ins and outs of camera, but provide students with the skills, knowledge and background necessary to see how this specialisation fits into the bigger creative picture. We believe that true specialists need a good understanding of all the processes that support their expertise.

A cinematography specialisation will give you the tools to not only interpret a creative brief in order to design, develop and implement camera and lighting coverage but it will equip you to develop your own script or storyline from first draft all the way through to screen production stage.

You’ll learn the nuts and bolts of cinematography. First you’ll start with how to compose shots, position the camera, select appropriate lenses and lighting equipment before going onto how to actually operate a camera in a wide range of environments.

We’ll help you explore the importance and tension between creative and technical edit decisions. You’ll get real experience in monitoring the editing process in the context of a variety of film, television, and multimedia productions.

You’ll become adept at writing proposals, planning and compiling production schedules, at briefing film and television crews, at writing safety reports and even planning and executing stunts, action sequences and visual effects. What’s more, you’ll get the management skills necessary to create production budgets, handle multiple projects and confidently lead professional teams
