Training Course:

Supply Chain Management

School/Trainer:

Cranfield University
Bedford, Bedfordshire, United Kingdom

Course Format: Classroom | E-learning | Virtual Class | Online | On-site | Blended | Self-paced

Course Description:

'' Increasingly, supply chain management is being recognised as the key to corporate success. Unfortunately, many mistakenly view supply chain management as simply another term for logistics, purchasing, operations, or a combination of logistics/purchasing/operations. In fact, supply chain management is much broader.

Supply chain management is the integration of key business processes from end user through original suppliers, that provides products, services and information that add value for customers and other stakeholders. The focus of this seminar is on the core processes that must be linked throughout the supply chain.

The key business processes are :

Customer relationship management
Customer service management
Demand Management
Order fulfilment
Manufacturing flow management
Supplier relationship management
Product development and commercialisation
Returns management.
In collaboration with: Fisher College of Business, The Ohio State University, and The Council of Supply Chain Management Professionals (CSCMP).

What will I get out of it?

You will learn how to tie performance of these processes to overall financial measures such as Economic Value Added
You will learn how to segment customers and suppliers based on their contribution to the financial success of your organization, and how to tailor product and service agreements that meet the needs of both sides of the relationship
You will learn how to use the partnership model which is a methodology to develop high-performance relationships with key customers and suppliers. For a review of the partnership model see Douglas M. Lambert and A. Michael Knemeyer, "We’re In This Together," Harvard Business Review, Vol. 82, No. 12 (2004), pp. 114-122. Reprinted in, "21st-Century Supply Chain Collection," Harvard Business Review (2004), pp. 55-64, for reprint.
You will learn how to conduct an assessment of the eight cross-functional processes using the Assessment Tool, which will be provided during the seminar. The Assessment Tool has been used at a number of major companies to identify areas of improvement
The processes will not replace functions, and you will learn the role that each function as well as key customers and suppliers has to play in the successful implementation of the processes
You will learn how major corporations such as Coca-Cola North America are implementing these processes.
