'' This course is designed for applicants wanting to establish businesses or who will be employed in a small or medium enterprise specialise in discipline areas other than commerce. This course suits graduates in professional areas establishing a private practice, or joining an existing partnership as an employee. It is also open to applicants with extensive business experience intending to pursue tertiary studies in small business management. Students develop managerial skills and focus on the essential elements of small business management - the management and organisation of self, markets and customers, strategic issues, finance, business networks, support services and human resources.

Students study units in communication in organisations, innovative organisations, global business, small business, and management processes and policies.

Course Entry Requirements / Prerequisites
Applicants must have a Bachelor Degree in a field other than business, economics or commerce, or an equivalent qualification from a recognised tertiary institution, or significant professional experience.

Recognition of Prior Learning
No recognition of prior learning will be awarded but a waiver (unit substitution) may be considered. All applicants are assessed on an individual basis.

Duration and Availability
This fee-paying course consists of four units of study and can be completed in one semester full-time or the equivalent part-time. Some units are run in the evening. International students studying in Australia on a student visa can only study in full-time mode.
