'' The programme is designed for company executives in the area of people management who wish to acquire expertise in labour relations, with a special focus on existing labour legislation. It is also designed for company managers who are not specialists in labour law and wish to acquire expertise in key areas of labour relations. Finally it is also targeted at people management consultants and advisors who wish to acquire in-depth knowledge of labour laws or to polish up their existing knowledge in this area. What will I get out of this programme? It will prepare you to take more effective decisions in the area of labour relations issues based on a clear understanding of current labour legislation. You will establish labour relations as a planning tool for implementing the company strategy. You will take an in-depth look into individual work relations with a special focus on work time, special agreements and workers rights and obligations. You will discover the scope of management powers that company managers have with regard to making changes to work contracts. You will learn how the Labour Inspection Authority operates. You will study the causes for suspending and terminating work contracts and more specifically, the scope of a companys disciplinary powers. You will be familiarised with collective labour relations and the role of legal and trade union representation inside the company. You will find out how collective bargaining works as well as about pressure mechanisms such as strikes and lockouts. You will acquire a comprehensive overview of the current social security system in our country. You will study the strategic negotiation process applied to labour relations along with the essential management skills required in order to implement an effective system of labour relations. You will share experiences with other professionals in similar professional and company posts. Methodology The starting point is that of managers who have not had the opportunity to acquire and study subjects related to labour law.
