Description This introductory course covers the basic steps involved in setting up an internet firewall, and provides hands-on training to manage a FireWall-1 installation. The new capabilities in the Next Generation (NG) version of VPN-1/FireWall-1 are highlighted.
Audience System administrators, security managers and network engineers who manage VPN-1/Firewall-1 Gateway deployments and individuals seeking the CCSA NG certification
Prerequisites Windows NT and/or UNIX operating systems, basic networking knowledge and experience with TCP/IP and the Internet.
If students are unsure of their networking and TCP/IP protocol knowledge - review the Networking and Internet Technologies roadmaps.

Objectives On completion, students will learn :
o VPN-1/Firewall-1 architecture and how to deploy its various modules and components
o how to install and configure on both Windows and Solaris
o the basics of defining a security poilicy using the security dashboard, incorporating Visual Policy Editor
o how to deploy and manage distributed security gateways using SecureUpdate and SIC capabilities
o adminstration and troubleshooting of security policies
o the basic of how to implement network address translation (NAT)
o setup user authentication on a VPN-1/Firewall-1 environment.
