'' This course presents the basic concepts of the strategic and operational management of Operations as well as their application in the manufacturing sector. However, applications in the service sector will be briefly presented. Emphasis will be on the ways and means to optimize the perfomance of the organization through the effective design and running of its Operations system. The means are part of the company’s general strategy.

The course briefly presents relatively new concepts such as trends in management, cross-functional Management, Stakehorlders’ Management, Supply Chain Management & Logistics, Enterprise Resources Planning (ERP), Mass Customization, Concurrent Engineering, Just-in-Time, Skill-Based Pay, Learning Organization, and ISA 9000 Standards Series, Suppliers Relationship Management and Customer Relationship Management.
