Course Description:
'' The one- and two-year Executive MBA programs at IEDC provide participants with the knowledge, skills, and attitudes necessary for success in their professional career, develop their capacity to successfully manage a business in a fast-changing international environment, and prepare them for greater responsibilities and a leadership role in their organizations.
From our experience, participants opt for a one- or two-year Executive MBA program to structure and consolidate their understanding of business, to develop their analytical capabilities and strategic thinking, and to move from functional management to general management.
Some of the main attributes of the one- and two-year Executive MBA program at IEDC are:
Who are the participants? Typically ranging in age from 28 to 45 years, participants have a university degree and a minimum of 3 years meaningful work experience. Since 1991, almost 500 managers from 29 countries have attended the IEDC International Executive MBA program. A modular approach The one- and two-year Executive MBA are structured in a series of modules. The modular approach enables participants to join the Executive MBA without leaving their job, and allows them to implement their knowledge and skills in their companies between modules. During the modules the workload is heavy and participants are expected to fully devote their time to their studies. However, between the modules participants have minimal study obligations and can pay full attention to their jobs. The one-year and the two-year Executive MBA Both the one- and two-year versions involve seventeen residential weeks at the IEDC-Bled School of Management, structured in a series of modules. The one-year program is designed in four intensive modules (three of 5 weeks and one of 2 weeks), while the two-year program is structured in seven shorter modules (2 to 3 weeks each), making these studies more feasible if you are unable to be away from your company for five weeks at a time. Both programs have the same requirements for admission, courses and graduation and they both draw their instructors from the same pool of high quality, well-respected professors. A day during the Executive MBA A normal working day during the Executive MBA program includes several class sessions in the form of lectures, case study discussions or computer simulations as well as individual study and group work. Lectures are from Monday to Friday from 8.30 to 17.00, and on Saturdays from 8.30 to 12.00. The evening workload is usually quite heavy and the working day rarely ends before 22.00 (taking into account group work and individual assignments). How are participants evaluated? Participants of the one- and two-year Executive MBA programs must achieve a required standard of performance in order to be awarded the final diploma. Regular attendance is required at all times and is a condition for graduation. The one- and two-year EMBA evaluation is based on the following mix of the four criteria: individual exams - 35%, contribution to the study groups and class discussions - 15%, end-of-module exercises - 25%, and project work - 30%. ...''
