Course Description:

'' If you have a passion for architecture and are interested in taking a critical and wide-ranging exploration of what constitutes architecture, this course is ideal. It has been designed particularly for applicants who are seeking a route to registration as an architect in the UK, and will help you to become an independent, reflective practitioner. The course covers the criteria specified by the Architects Registration Board (ARB) and Royal Institute of British Architects. The award offers a prescribed qualification by the ARB.

What you will study
The core skill of the architect is design, therefore the design studio is at the heart of this course, with theoretical, technical and contextual studies underpinning and informing design.

You will gain an understanding of the position of architecture as artefact, discipline and practice. You will identify, assess and evaluate the issues relating to architecture and architectural projects. You will learn how to make coherent, responsible and appropriate design proposals, and how to develop and refine a design proposal and communicate it in a variety of forms using appropriate media. In addition you will evolve design proposals with particular reference to issues of sustainability and the health and well-being of constructors and users.
