'' If you would like to develop the necessary knowledge and skills for a career as a race engineer while gaining valuable practical experience with leading motor company Lotus, this course is ideal. A quarter of the course is delivered by Lotus engineers at their UK site in Norwich, while the remainder of the course is carried out in our purpose-built laboratories at Kingston University, which houses a rolling road, dedicated engine testing facilities and damper testing equipment.

The course is designed to enable you to acquire the theoretical knowledge and practical skills required for the design, development, evaluation and optimisation of motorsport vehicles to give them a competitive advantage.

What you will study
You will gain an in-depth understanding of motorsport vehicle dynamics and learn how the individual sub-sets of vehicle dynamics impact on each other and on the overall vehicle performance. You will gain extensive practical experience of industry-standard static and transient set-up equipment, procedures and protocols relating to whole vehicle dynamics. You will develop a critical awareness of the current trends and advancements in motorsport vehicle development. You will also gain a detailed understanding of industry-standard development, simulation and analysis tools. Additional studentcentred experience of race-car set-up will be gained through exposure to appropriate set-up and race days.

Your MSc project gives you the opportunity to study a real-world problem within the motorsport industry.
