The MA has both Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD) accreditation and ESRC Research Training status.
CIPD accreditation means that students can hold full graduate membership of the CIPD. The CIPD pathway includes a module on Management Practices in HRM. CIPD electives are also available, depending on the MA options selected. There are additional charges for CIPD membership and for those following the CIPD pathway. Further details on the CIPD pathway can be found below.
ESRC Research Training status means that the MA HRM is an accredited programme under the ESRC 1+3 funding arrangements for students progressing from the 1 year Masters programme to the 3 year PhD programme.
CIPD pathway
The CIPD pathway is an opportunity whereby alongside your degree studies you can also achieve Graduate Memebership of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development, the leading professional body for HRM practitioners. Successful completion of the CIPD pathway means that you will gain complete exemption from the CIPDs professional examinations. To study for these seperately would take at least one year full time or three years part-time.
