'' Our MSc in International Management programme offers a complete range of International Business and Management modules, giving you insights into the key functions of any organisation, as well as in-depth knowledge of the main management issues affecting organisations around the world. Combining a diverse range of core and optional modules with contemporary case studies and skills-based coursework, you pursue a programme of study which suits your ambitions.

Delivered over three Semesters each lasting 12 weeks, students typically spend 12-15 hours per week in lectures and workshops. However, expect to invest time on preparing for lectures as well as on directed reading and group-based case study work. Assessment is based on a combination of group projects, essays, and written examinations. Gain 180 credits over the 12 months and you’ll leave Loughborough with an MSc degree and hugely improved job prospects. Still think it’s for you?

Here’s how each Semester breaks down�
Semester One (October to January)
The first Semester introduces our core management modules. These cover the main functions of an organisation, namely:

Human Resource Management (15 credits) �the theory and practice of managing people including everything from recruitment and training to motivation and job design.
Marketing Management (15 credits) �examines how products and services are developed, priced, distributed and promoted in the global marketplace, including how to identify and satisfy your customers�needs.
Accounting and Financial Management (15 credits) �developing technical and analytical skills in accounting and financial management, this module introduces the financial practices of business and how these influence other functional areas.
Operations Management (15 credits) �learn how organisations develop and distribute products and services effectively and efficiently.

Semester Two (February to June)
Our second Semester builds on the core modules to develop a deeper understanding of international management issues.

International Business Environment (15 credits) �delving into the underpinnings of internationalisation, we will look at international market entry strategies, the design of effective international organisations and the development of global business.
Cross-Cultural Management (15 credits) �uncover what it means to manage successfully in an international organisation, with a focus on the cultural dimensions of international management, the meaning of management from within different cultural environments and the significance of leadership in a global context.
Business Analysis (15 credits) �this module sees you employing your analytical skills on a particular industry and an internationally operating company within it.

Optional Modules (15 credits each)
Semester Two affords you the opportunity to explore two areas in which you are particularly interested. Options include:

Small Business & Entrepreneurship

Business Forecasting
Retail Management
Work Psychology
Financial Control & Performance Management
Marketing Strategy & Planning
Advertising & Consumer Behaviour

Semester Three (July to September)
Semester Three further builds on the competencies you have learned during the course, instilling a vital understanding of international business strategy.

Strategic Management (15 credits) �looking at long-term decisions made by senior managers and how these direct and influence other functions of the organisation in both public and private sectors within a global context. We’ll also cover strategy implementation and control in this module.
International Management Analysis (30 credits) �building on Business Analysis, this module considers the strategic activities, future options and likely strategic choices facing an industry and a designated company within it. After completing both these modules, students should have a critical ability to assess the strategic direction of an internationally operating industry and its constituent companies.
