'' For many bank staff, negotiating skills development is the most cost effective, quickest payback training they can do. One improved deal can hugely increase the bank’s value from a relationship with a customer, or enhance the future for a department or the chances of success for a project.

Negotiating is a profitable and satisfying skill that everyone should learn. It increases confidence and assertiveness in addition to providing a useful conflict handling approach.

All bank staff use negotiating skills with their colleagues in the countless interactions in their organisation where compromises must be found. Many bank staff are professional negotiators who use their skills every day to make deals with customers and suppliers. In all these situations a careful balance must be maintained with other skills, particularly selling and relationship building �and this workshop always puts negotiating in its proper context.

The introductory level of negotiating training focuses on the core ideas which ensure that preparation and conduct in both formal and informal negotiations are skillful. This workshop, though assuming no prior training, moves quickly through the basics. This allows us to devote time to the ‘Deal-making Personalities�of the participants, how they can play to their strengths and what they can do to improve.

A range of case studies will be available. Some are based on real bank customer situations and others are designed to raise issues concerning internal deal-making. The actual cases used will be tailored to the particular group.
