'' Derived from our longstanding reputation for excellent academic and vocational training in criminology, probation studies, youth justice and psychology, this innovative programme draws on substantial teaching and research experience. It combines the theoretical insights of forensic psychology, applied psychology and applied criminology. We will help you to develop communication and methodological skills for researching and analysing information, vital for subsequent professional practice.

The programme covers: key areas of legal and criminological psychology (eg, aetiology of offending behaviour, judicial decision making, offender treatment programmes and victimisation); and practical research techniques and statistical methods.

The programme covers: key areas of legal and criminological psychology (eg, aetiology of offending behaviour, judicial decision making, offender treatment programmes and victimisation); and practical research techniques and statistical methods.
Compulsory modules: Criminological Psychology; Legal Psychology; Research Methods; Professional and Research Issues and the Research Dissertation (MSc only approximately 10,000 to 15,000 words). Optional modules include: Crime and Victimisation; Feminist Perspectives in Criminology; Prisons in Context; Probation and Applied Criminology; Racism, Social Exclusion and Criminal Justice; White Collar Crime; and Youth Justice.
