They are available on CD-Rom, on the Middlesex University intranet and also in hard copy. They give hypertext links to the electronic resources of the University library including cases, statutes and online journals. At the weekly tutorials, you work through exercises and problems with the emphasis on maximum class participation and discussion. In between the weekly face-to-face sessions, you maintain contact with your tutors by email or noticeboard facilities. Two intensive weekend sessions involve further face-to-face tuition. You will also be required to complete an online research-based module, Principles of a Fair Trial, which is assessed by coursework. This module concentrates on the impact of the Human Rights Act on criminal and civil procedure and evidence. Tort Equity and Trusts Land Law Principles of a Fair Trial. The full time programme lasts for 10 months. You will be supplied with the materials for the first module, Introduction to English Law, in August and work through the materials at home. After a five-day induction session in early September, full-time students attend campus for one day a week over two 12-week semesters. There are two intensive research sessions in January and April/May.
Part-time students work through the Introduction to English Law module and attend the five-day induction session. You are encouraged to attend the weekend sessions in January and April/May and must attend a weekend induction at the beginning of your second year of study. As a part-time student, you will also have scheduled access to the WebCT noticeboard discussions during the programme.
