Teaching is on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. Full-time students attend on Tuesday afternoons and evenings (six hours a week). Part-time students attend on Tuesday evening in year one and on Wednesday evening in year two (three hours a week).

Assessment is typically by essay (2,500 words) for each of the seminar modules, and a piece of your own original creative writing of up to 5,000 words in the workshops, with a critical introduction. The concluding dissertationtakes the form of an individually supervised portfolio, consisting of 20,000 words of original fiction, with a critical introduction of 5,000 words.
