'' Risk decisions are now a major preoccupation of business and government. This course is designed for those working in risk management at a senior level and graduates with an emerging interest in the area. We cover the whole process of risk management from assessment of the hazard to implementation of the solution and evaluation of its effectiveness. It highlights the philosophical and technical issues underpinning risk management and will help you make efficient, credible and acceptable decisions in practical situations.

You will gain a much clearer understanding of the scientific, socio-economic, psychological, ethical and communicative factors involved in risk management. This will help you to make more informed decisions and to think strategically. The course has three multidisciplinary compulsory modules after which you can exit with a PGCert, or you can specialise through optional modules and go on to a PGDip. If you complete the dissertation you will graduate with an MSc.

PGDip and MSc: Research Methods plus two speciality modules leading to named awards, for example MSc Risk Management (Food Safety). Specialities include: Occupational health and safety;Environmental risk management; Food safety; Social policy; Business risk; Dissertation (MSc only).
