Course Format: Classroom | E-learning | Virtual Class | Online | On-site | Blended | Self-paced
Course Description:
'' The Newcastle MBA Executive programme seeks to develop managers with an international outlook, who can think and act strategically, carry their organisation forward, and be catalysts for change within their organisation.
The programme content has been designed to not only meet these aims, but managers subscribing to the programme should also be developed in context.
That is, they should be:
fully sponsored by their employer - to the effect, that they are given all necessary support to meet the demands of the programme; encouraged to link their classroom activity to their ongoing work-based experiences as fully as possible - to the effect, that the programme extends beyond the classroom, to the job and into the sponsoring organisation; encouraged to bring current work-based projects to the programme where they would be integrated into the learning experience - to the effect that management development equates to organisation development. Key Features Two intakes per year, January and September Focus on developing analytical and problem solving skills, through links into businesses, including international management consultancy field trips All-inclusive fee package, including text books for all compulsory modules (one book for each module) and two field trips (flights and B&B accommodation) An emphasis on leading edge research and its application to business E-learning support for the programme Small group teaching Accredited by the Associations of MBAs (AMBA) Our robust core framework means we are able to offer corporate MBAs tailored to your needs, even for organisations requiring relatively few places
Learning Process Essentially, rather than each module being taught separately, a more integrative approach - using team planning/teaching; integrated project-based learning outcomes; group learning, based upon a cluster of modules addressing particular issues or themes - is a key feature of the Executive MBA.
In essence, the programme places a greater emphasis on developing an interdisciplinary focus in its teaching and learning. Clusters of learning modules structure their workshops around management issues with individual module tutors addressing these issues from the perspective of their subject area. The role of staff becomes more of facilitator of the learning process in this regard rather than traditional lecturing role.
The dissertation - its planning, research and write-up - will be integrated into the programme from the beginning with a submission date at the end of year 2 or within six months thereafter. ...''
